Estate Vineyard

Yarrawood Estate was established in 1996 and planting was concluded in 1997. The property is 150 acres in size. 101 acres are planted with vines.

The remaining 49 acres are taken up by two water storage dams totalling 115mega litres, the Steels Creek, headlands and our Cellar Door and Café with surrounding lawns. The seasonal creek meanders through the centre of the property and provides additional water as well as a welcome home for native animals and vegetation.

Prior to the purchase of the property by our family in 1995, the land was most recently used for grazing sheep, agisting horses and the manufacturing of animal feed cubes. Going further into the past, it was part of a larger pastoral property that reached beyond the township of Yarra Glen. Subsequently in the 1950’s, after subdivision, the property was used as the sight for a large dairy. To this day many of the trees planted around the family homestead are still standing and what was a family home for more than 40 years has now been incorporated into our Cellar Door and Café.
