A mixed case of Yarrawood Estate Tall Tales Wines. Included is four bottles each of Cabernet Merlot, Pinot Noir and Rose: The 2008 barrel matured Pinot Noir was harvested from blocks 4a and 4c on our Estate. The wine is a plum colour with red hues. On the nose there is lifted sweet rasberry and cranberry fruits with a touch of violets. On the palate there is cherry, cranberry and some red plum fruits. Seasoned French oak allows expression of the fruit while providing structure and spice. Balanced and lingering, the finish is soft and rounded. The 2008 Rosė was harvested from Cabernet Sauvignon block 1a, and Merlot block 3a on our estate. A warm and dry summer in conjunction with low cropping levels resulted in fully ripe and extremely flavoursome fruit. With the appearance of Rose water, there are enticing aromas of red currant and mandarin fruits. Mulberry, strawberry and citrus fruits provide a luscious lead into a balanced palate finished by guava and tropical fruit. Best enjoyed young when the fruit flavours are freshest. Award: Bronze Medal - Victorian Wine Show 2009 The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is dark red in colour with a crimson hue. There are lifted aromas of blackberry, spice and mocha. The palate exhibits fruitcake and fresh berry fruits, and mocha and coffee characters add complexity. Firm tannins give the wine structure, while a hint of oak from partial barrel maturation brings a sweet spicy finish to the wine. Award: Bronze Award International Cool Climate Wine Show 2009.
